Recurrence of PSA post prostectomy & IMRT
I HAD A PROSTECTOMY ON 18 JAN 20118 AFTER I WAS DIAGNOSED PROSTATE CANCER AT 8.2.
POST PROSTECTOMY PSA ROSE TO .09 AFTER 6 MONTHS. IMRT FOR 40 DAYS WAS CONDUCTED AROUND THE PROSTATE BED AREA BUT AFTER 6 MONTHS PAS HAS RISEN FRO <0.O5 TO <0.1.
HOW SERIOUS IS MY CANCER. IS IT RECURRING?

Different type of assays
Syedman,
The numbers you write above could be equal. I think that they were provided from different assays. One reads two decimal places (0.0X) and the other reads up to one decimal (0.X). The sign of "<" in both results represent the lower limit of detection of that assay (LLD). Accordingly, <0.05 could be equal to <0.1.
In any case, you need three increases to consider recurrence. I recommend you to wait for the next PSA tests. Meanwhile enjoy life.
Best,
VG
