Stress
It's been almost a year since my last treatment. I'm still getting use to this "new normal" I tried going back to work
but the stress was so much, after nearly two weeks I feel I can't take the stress working in a Vets office. My BP is high and
I do take meds for it, sometimes they dont' work. UGH I just have a tough time with stress.

Anxiety and stress
I am very easily stressed since having radiation, chemo, fisture, ileostomy, Ileostomy reversal, hernia ... All of the intricate details of using my bowels, has left me a wreck! I can't even watch an animal documentary as it raises my anxiety, stressing me out. I usually leave the room and go to lie down as the anxiety is palpable. I need to remove myself from any TV program that has up-tempo loud music as it triggers my stress levels and they rise rather quickly.
To add to this reaction to any 'drama' I break out in a hot flush, and do not cope well. I have to lie down to gain some resemblence of sanity. Things have slowly begun to improve but it has been nearly 3yrs since treatment finished but complications had in my opinion, prolonged my anxiety. I do not cope with being put under pressure to 'perform' an example, trying to cook a family meal to a deadline. It is exhausting trying to manage my new reactions and it can takes days to regain my strength back.
I know I am slowly improving in my health and every now and then, I wake up to feeling a sense of 'normal'. Sanity and my world seems to be improving but I am ever on alert to being aware of whether I need to use my bowels.
It has been some time since you posted, but I didn't want you to feel like you were the only one experiencing stress after treatment. I hope you have started to recover somewhat, since treatment.

Hang in there, and try not to worry about it too much! Have a good October (as much as possible with this COVID going on.) I want to take a trip somewhere, ANYWHERE...
