It's coming out!

So on July 19th they are taking my kidney. Not going to lie, it bothers me. But I know I can do this. I went through two years of breast cancer and still taking those awful pills for prevention, I can do this. But it bothers me really a lot.
My kidney removal is due to UTUC of the kidney, which is in the bladder cancer group. But still it is taking out the kidney which you all are familuar with. AND no one is on the bladder site. You know why? My research has shown me that many die. There is not much research or treatment available for UTUC of the kidney.
I am determind to be one of them that lives.
Prayers requested.
Hugs,
Annie

You're a tough cookie and can do this. I did all mine back to back: breast cancer lumpectomy in July, re-excision in August, full nephrectomy in September, then started breast radiation in late October. Somebody enrolled me in the Crap of the Month Club! Just think of the previous cancer that you had as a rehearsal for this one and you can do it. Best advice I read: You don't have to be brave, you just have to show up.

Alice wow, I am amazed by your strength and endurance will be on my mind that day. I feel very inspired by what you went through in a short period of time.
Thank you for sharing that.

None of it was really horrible. I hurt like hell for a few days after the kidney was dug out, but once I was up and moving, it improved. Getting up that first time was rough, though. Pain pills are our friends in that stage.
