Excessive mucus & foaming phlegm
My husband has been diagnosed with stage III Adenocarcinoma. He has not started his treatment plan yet. But is having excess mucus & phlegm. Just was wondering any ideals on how to maybe help him with this. Any ideals on how to control or even slow this down?
Thanks

Hello
Hello,
Sorry you guys find yourselves here. I started out as stage III adenocarcinoma myself, back in 2008. I know that mucous & phlegm are issues for some folks, but I can't speak to it personally. Perhaps if you surf around on the site, you'll be able to find posts that speak to what you're looking for.
Best Wishes,
Ed

Unfortunately excess mucus if a fairly common issue with EC
Hello,
Unfortunately exess mucus and phlegm is a fairly common issue with the irritation caused by esophageal cancer and some of the treatment approaches like radiation. Here is a discussion thread from Smart Patients web site where the problem is discussed by several esophageal cancer patients. https://www.smartpatients.com/posts/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search%5Bkeywords%5D=excess+mucus
I hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Paul
