Thank you
I know at my age, that when I read the obit's there might be a chance to see someones name I know. I'm so sorry though to see the name of a cancer friend. RIP, it's not enough but it's all I can say. PS, I hope I die from anything other than cancer. Damn cancer, I don't want to be a statistic! Hugs to Pinkys family. Nancy

In Memory
Thank you for sharing this sad, but expected, news. For those who would like to read more about our long-time friend, see her obituary at: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/carol-werner-obituary?pid=192737392&affiliateid=1811
Her wonderfully informative posts will continue to serve as an important source of information for those who "knew" her here and those who find this site in the future.
I regret I never asked her why she chose the user name "Pinky104." I loved when it got abbreviated to "Pinky" here – it was such an endearing moniker. It will always remind me of Carol from now on.
Deepest sympathies to her husband, children, other family and friends.
Chris

Never gets easier
Hearing about losses just never gets easier, does it? It's a good thing you guys stroked my ego yesterday because it helps today. Pinky was one of those who left us a lot that helps and that's really why we keep coming back. She's done a lot to pay it forward and I will remember her and others who were here for me but are no longer with us. I'm a better person for having "known" them even though we've never met. I'm a better person for knowing all who end up here. This is the hard part of it all, but I'm grateful for this place in spite of the inevitability of days like this. Ah, Pinky! You will be greatly missed!

Thank you, Jane and cmb
I, too, wondered about the name Pinky and wish I'd asked. I knew she was a fellow New Yorker but not that she was only an hour and a half away. I am in that area a few times a year so it makes me wonder if we ever passed by each other.
