Any of you ladies experience fevers after chemo ?

After both chemo treatment, I have developed a fever 5-7 days later.  No source of infection found the first time.  Treated with antibiotics and went away in a few days.  Currently have fever again, after second treatment.  Initial tests ok, waiting on blood cultures to come back

It‘s frustrating to have to go to ER every time.

    No fever

But my doctors were very emphatic to immediately get help if I did get a temp over 100.4. I guess it is very common due to obvious impared immune system.

Neither did I but my team was

Neither did I but my team was also emphatic abouth the importance of going to the emergency room if I had a temp over 100. It must be frustrating to head to the ER but it seems to me that you're going the smart thing.

    Very important to seek

Very important to seek immediate medical care.  Probably just neutropenic fever, but could be infection, and in your vulnerable neutropenic state, you need treatment immediately.

    Yes, my center is adamant

Yes, my center is adamant about fevers.  I completely understand and have called them immediately and gone to ER both times as instructed.  I’m just frustrated with this on top of everything else.

    Whizzer

We get overwhelmed with chemo and radiation side effects, and it is so hard to cope with them especially during active treatment. The extra hassle of being forced to go to the ER is just more thing to deal with, I am sorry you have had to deal with this but we are here to listen. Your question was a good one as it is a complication that some have had to deal with.

Spent all day in ER, again.

Spent all day in ER, again.  They ran every test possible....blood, urine, X-ray, ct, etc.  Nothing found.  Which is good I guess, frustrating.

Thank you all for your comments and shared wisdom.  I truly appreciate it.
