Small t3 hemangioma

in Kidney Cancer #1

so I got my ct scan results in writing.  My doc never mentioned this funding and I’ve been having back pain at night as I’ve written about on this board for many months going back to before surgery in this exact location.  does anyone have experience with a finding like this.  I plan To call my doc.  wondering if this could be a met, could be growing causing the pain to get worse/more frequent. Do people later find out this wasnt benign? I notice alot of concern about hemangioma in liver but none in spine.  Any info is greatly appreciated.

    If it says hemangioma it's

    If it says hemangioma it's not a met. Those are benign growths made up of blood vessels. Talk to your doc; I'm sure you'll be reassured it's not a met.

    In my case, my initial CT scan showed something on my spine that they thought could be a met. MRI confirmed that it was only a hemangioma - harmless.

    Thank you both!  I'm sorry I keep running here with questions but the support is really helping me. I wish my doctor had mentioned it when I saw him as I would have been able to ask these questions. I have a call in to him but I'm guessing he was simply not concerened because of what you are both saying here.

    You are definitely not alone.....My wife has one in her T6 that was discovered on her first set of scans. We have asked her Oncologist as well as 2 other doctors and all three came back with the same answer. It’s a benign tumor made up of blood vessels, usually first presents itself in people in their 40s - 50s and has a higher propensity in women.

    I’m a bit crazy about these things so I had two other Sloan radiologists read the report and both agreed this is a hemangioma and nothing to worry about so I am back to celebrating my first of hopefully many NEDs! Thanks you again to all who responded! Appreciate the support so much!

    I have a hemangioma in my Liver for last 7 years which my Dr is monitoring--do not worry about it!
