First Available appt in May
I was accepted as a patient at MSK. My appt is in May. Does anyone know if that "your on the call if appt becomes available" list actually happens? That seems so long. I know that my cancer grows slow, but still.
I don't know if I should be happy to have the extra 5 weeks to be "normal", or worried that it is growing and spreading.

Doctor to Doctor
Sometimes a call from one doctor to another can speed up the appointment process. It worked for me at least.

Enjoy the break
5 weeks won’t change too much, I am sure it’s going to be fine.

Thanks, that is what my current oncologist's practical nurse told me too today. I am a bit relieved about that. I did ask if they could try to get me quicker appt. But if not, I guess I can just spend a few chemo free weeks where I am not worrying about getting in to see a spcialist. I also asked her if it was normal that I am still so very fatigued, and she said yes!

The way I always looked at having to interrupt or delay chem by a month or so was that if something grew that fast in that short of time there wasn't much I could do anyways if you know what I mean! Your body can build up some more immunity and stamina in the interim!

Wait
Glad that you are getting into a great facility. I've heard many good things about it but don't think that 5 weeks are going to make much difference. Sometimes the waiting can seem like eternity but you are going to be in good hands and different set of eyes. Take this time to build your strength up and enjoy the spring time. Please keep us informed.

That doesn't seem too long
5 weeks may seem like it's a long time becuase of course you want you answers yesterday....but in all reality I don't think that things could change all that much. Enjoy the break and the rest so that you will be refreshed, renewed and ready for what comes next. I hope that all goes well at MSK and that Tru will be soon breaking out her little dancing man for you! Hang in there, you got this!!!!
