Waiting biopsy results
I am 9 days post hysteroscopy and I am waiting for my biopsy results. It's the start of a 3-day weekend which means I probably won't learn anything until Tuesday at the earliest. I have researched that based on my symptoms I probably have a 10 to 15% chance of being diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I also know that that means the odds are in my favor. But this waiting is really hard.
I am a person who deals better with the known versus the unknown. I've also tried just stay positive for my husband's sake because the very thought of me having cancer scares him senseless. So my question to all of you is how long did you have to wait after your biopsy to learn your result?
I think I had convinced myself that I would know within 7 days and when I didn't learn anything I started to worry that the result was not going to be positive. I know that many of you are facing much harder things than this so please forgive my ramble. I figured this was a place that I could come because most everyone starts their journey with a test and waiting.

Long wait
I am wondering if there's a miscommunication somewhere. Maybe calling you got overlooked somehow or they are waiting till you have your postop checkup. I'm so sorry it's a long weekend and you have another 3 days to wait. I would call the office first thing Tuesday morning. Hang tight and let us know what happens. I'm rooting for you.

I waited 8 days.
And my result was endometrail intraepithelial neoplasm. Pre cancer. It was a confusing time as I thought it was not cancer, but I was referrred to a Cancer Center. Then the gynecological oncologist changed the diagnosis to serous intraepithelial neoplasm. Looking at these slides in not cut and dried. Anyway, your chances are much greater on finding no cancer. It was not hard for me to wait becauase I was convinced there was nothing there. After my hysterectomy is was a hard wait. But the news was as good as could be expected after being diagnosed with serous carcinoma. It is nice to talk to people who understand, and there are lots of people here who do understand what you are going through. And even if it was cancer, 80% of cancers are endometrioid, and most of those have good prognosis. My husband would not even talk about it. that was very hard.

Two days I think
It's hard to remember, since so much has come since my positive biopsy. But it wasn't any 10 days, that's for sure. But now, unless your GYN is open this morning, you'll really have to wait until Monday. They will be working on Monday - I don't think that many doctors or pathologists are off for President's day. Call them Monday morning for results.
In most cases, I tell people that it's NOT 'no news is good news', when dealing with medical results, it's 'no news means no one has chased down the results'. But in this case, I can tell you, that if bad results had come across the doctor's desk, she would have called you back by now. So it's very, very likely that the biopsy came back negative, and that it got filed. You're probably in the clear. Just call them Monday morning.

I will take ZsaZsa1's advice
I will take ZsaZsa1's advice and call on Monday and check in on the results. Online on my clinic website it still shows the pathology order as pending. I have read on other sites that people have sometimes waited 3 weeks for results. I feel like my doctor is on top of it, but also know things can always be overlooked. I will be proactive and call. Even if the results aren't in yet it may spur them to check in with the pathologist in case the hold up is there. Thanks so much ladies for taking the time to encourage me.

My gynecologist called me
My gynecologist called me exactly one week later, but it's pretty variable. Sometimes they do have to send for a second opinion or further testing on the sample, and that doesnt always mean anything bad. But I'd bet it just randomly happened to take just long enough to push you into the 3 day weekend. I hope you get the answer right away next week, the waiting surely is brutal. We a understand exactly how you feel!

My preliminary results were phoned
To me two days after the hysteroscopy due to the fact that the pathologist caslled him as soon as he diagnosed USPC. The final result came a week or so later. Their hair was on fire because my incompetent gyne told me there was no cancer, just fibroids, he pulled this dx out of his @ss with no pathology. So in two days I went from thinking there was no cancer to high grade USPC. So it can take a week at least for final pathology. The gyne also made me wait 6 weeks for the hysteroscopy because he thought it wasn't cancer. So preliminary results can be available early but that doesn't mean they will release them early to you or your doctor. It pays to call and ask nicely if they have preliminary results.

I had a biopsy on a Tuesday
I had a biopsy on a Tuesday and the gynecologist called me on Friday to give me the bad news. I would give them a call as soon as possible. They could be getting a second opinion themselves and that's what taking the time but then, why couldn't they have at least called you?

First of all I want to thank
First of all I want to thank all of you lovely ladies for your support. I took the advice that some of you suggested and called my doctor's office this morning I did not get to speak to the doctor but I spoke to a nurse who was able to pull up the pathology report and it looks like the samples were benign. This is a huge relief. I gave some feedback on the online survey that I was sent suggesting clearer communication especially when awaiting potentially life-altering results. I will check back in after I have spoken with the doctor but it does look like everything is okay for me. I want to thank you all again for your support and hand-holding that I probably would have denied I needed, but you saw and responded.
