Still fighting
Sorry for not posting for a bit. I’m still fighting back against this beast. I’ve stayed out of the hospital so that is good. I’m still on Cabo - been on the higher dose (60 mg) for about a month. The SEs are unpleasant but I’ve been toughing it out. Had scans today and I have a date with my onc at 8am tomorrow. Not sure what to expect. Cabo has made me feel like crap but I have no idea if it has been effective against the cancer. I’ll know soon enough. All I know for sure is I ain’t done yet and I plan to keep fighting.
I am so happy when I read posts about others being NED - gives me hope. Not just hope for me but for everyone facing this awful disease. I pray that one day (soon would be ideal) a cure is found. But until that happens we fight on and enjoy the good days and cherish time with loved ones. I am thankful for this support group - I wish you all the very best. I will do my best to keep checking in.

MarkDavid, I am glad you gave us an update. I will be thinking of you now as you wait to see the results.
We will walk along side you ALL THE FRIGGIN WAY! You ARE HOPE!
Do you know the SERENITY prayer?
(God) GRANT me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change,
The COURAGE to change the things I can and
the WISDOM to know the difference.
I say this often repeating it until a peace comes over me.
Stay in touch ok hon?
Sending you healing hugs,
Jan

Happy to hear from you! I HOPE HOPE HOPE Cabo is doing its job. It is for me so far. Scans in about a week. Please do let us know how yours turned out!!
You have the right mindset, but we all know this is no picnic in the park. SE's on Cabo are rough but doable mostly. Can't wait to hear good news from you!!

Update
Met with my oncologist today - was a nervous wreck all night and morning. I got some great news today - positive response with tumors in lungs and leg. The largest (and scariest) tumor in my right lung that is pressed up against my heart was 5cm and is now about 2.5cm - praise the Lord! The other small nodules have remained stable or have shrunk. The tumor in my left thigh that at one point was larger than a baseball is now so small it is barely detectable (broken into two very small tumors now). The tumor in my abdomen which is near the location of my abdominal hemorrhage has remained stable with increasing signs of necrosis. I still have a lot of blood in my abdomen so it is hard to really see the tumor. If the next scans don‘t show improvement we talked about an ablation or radiation.
Thank you for the encouraging words and support and prayers. Fight on!!

Late to the party
Sorry I'm a little late to give encouragement, Mark, but I 'm here to celebrate your good news. If I could do back flips--I'd do a few for you:)
Question--with the SE kicking your butt, did your doctor talk about reducing your dose?
Wishing you the best!

I am going to stay at the higher dose for a while longer. The SEs have been unpleasant but not unbearable. If they do get to the point where I can no longer tolerate we will look at reducing the dose. I wanna keep up the higher dose for as long as I am able.

This sounds like a good plan, Mark. Our friend Fox always said.....take the SE as long as you can as long as the meds are working. I'm sure you are being watched closely.
Wishing you the best!

SO thrilled to read the Cabo
SO thrilled to read the Cabo is working for you! I sure hoped it would. Keep on going. You're doing a great job. Do you have help managing the SE's? Or, I suppose you know what to do from using the other meds.
Sure hope the next scan shows more going away! Maybe you can breathe easier for awhile. Man, you have been through a lot.
I am so glad I started with Cabo as 1st line.
