First step completed, now more waiting
I went in for my hysteroscopy and D&C this morning and am already home. This really is not a difficult procedure for any of those who haven’t had it done and are feeling anxious. I had a great anesthesiologist and by the time I was wheeled back to the OR, I was floating on a cloud. I don’t remember anything until waking up in recovery with my husband smiling over me. Obviously no results yet, but the doctor did say he felt things looked pretty good and he removed the polyp and did the D&C just to be sure. Lab results will be in next week. I’m a little groggy now and plan to rest the remainder of the day. Hopefully we will get good lab results. Prayers for everyone!

Glad its over now the waiting
It is hard. But I read that only 10% of polyps are cancerous. May that be your news, and if not there is lots of support here for you. I'ts so nice to talk to people who have been through what you have.

Waiting for Results
I've had two hysteroscopies/D&Cs. The first was about a year after menopause when I first had vaginal bleeding, I had a single polyp removed that was benign.
Nine years later I had the second hysteroscopy/D&Cs after a second bout of vaginal bleeding. This was when my cancer was discovered.
But the odds are very good that your polyp was benign, as most of them are. Let us know when you have the pathology results.

The only thing that concerns me was that the dr told my husband the polyp was larger than he expected. Plus I worry sometimes how my husband interprets things, I was too out of it to really take in what the doc was saying. But hopefully it will be ok. I just hate the wait.
