Latissimus Flap Breast Reconstruction

Hello.

 

I had my second failed attempt at breast reconscrution this past August. This last attempt was utilizing the DIEP flap procedure. One by one the flap failed.  The plastic surgeon suggests the Latissimus Flap procedure as a final step since the arteries are left in tact and relatively no chance of decreased blood flow as with the DIEP. I'm 52 and the thought of having my back muscles sacrificed for breasts doesn't seem appealing to me. Anyone around my age have this procedure performed? Any regrets?
