Anyone have post chemo acid indigestion?
Is it mormal to have periods of acid indigestion after chemo? I am almost 5 weeks out, eating tomatoes in vinagrette, and have serious acid indigestion right now.

Indigestion
Yes, I had bad indigestion on chemo, and some still today. I find that some baking soda disolved in water provides immediate relief, but we are all different. Also, because of its potential anti-cancer effect, I use Cimetidine (Tagamet) liberally as an antacid. For me, five weeks out of chemo meant the big issues were resolving, but many of the smaller ones lingered on. Hopefully this is a temporary situation for you.

Common
It was common for a while with me, but tomatoes are high in acid anyway so maybe you should limit them a little. Chemo changes a digestive system and it did me for a long time. Take some tums or over the counter anti-acid. That should help a great deal.

Thank y'all! My post chemo scan is in a week and anxiety has me thinking every little ache, pain, or indigestion is a sign. Good to know this is common enough to have following chemo.
You're welcome. It's surprising how every little ache and pain can throw us all in to a panic. I'm now dealing with something and though this could be a worry free couple of months but now feel pain. We all get like this after diagnosis. Normally it would pass for everyone else, but it doesn't with a survivor. You're not alone. Glad you have us to ask questions of.
