Alberta, Canada—coverage for Capecitabine (Xeloda)?
Hi all,
We are in Alberta and found out today that my husband will have to take Capecitabine for 5.5 weeks.
Anyone in Alberta know if Alberta Blue Cross covers this drug?

Thanks, Jan!!!JanJan63 said:Hi, you don't pay for any
Hi, you don't pay for any chemo drugs at all, ever, to my knowledge. When I was on the oral Xeloda they gave me the pills at the Tom Baker.

Thanks, Jan!!!
We went to Holy Cross today for our initial consult but I think we’ll be at Tom Baker for he pills.
I’m relieved we won’t have to pay because my husband will need to be off work for a while.
Thanks for your reply!!!!!❤️

So sorry I'm not able to help you. Canada is totally different from the states and wish we could help you, but I'm not able to give you advice on your health care system. Do you not have a cancer support system in Canada that helps you like the American Cancer Society here? Just wondering what type of support system you have there. Hope you get the best possible treatment.
