Help for friend just startung radiation
My friend just had a lumpectomy taking 4 nodes. Its been determined she'll only need radiation. My bf just finished 40 rafs and 3 Cisplatin for throat cancer so I'm very familiar with that. What i want to know is will she go through the same problems with food issues, dry mouth, secretions etc having radiation of her breast and not the throat. I want to help with any knowledge i learned to help her.

radiation side effects
Good evening. I too had a lumpectomy with radiation only and am 1/2 way thru my raditation. I was told side effects include - soreness, fatigue (which I am not suffering from), sunburn like symptoms (especially if you have fair skin), swelling of the breast and under the arm, and redness (I was told everyones breast will turn red). Best of luck for your friend.

Thank you. Good luck to you. I hope it goes ok for you. I have learned about the best skin care for radiation burn...aloe, calendula oil and coconut oil...in that order. We didnt have any issues wirh this protocol

what a good friend you are! I had radiation in the fall and had no issues at all other than fatigue towards the end. She will have that for awhile.
Thank you. I did tell her aboit the fatigue and told her to drink lots of water and try exercises even just a walk everyday...seemed to help us. Glad you made it through.
