18 Month Scan NED!
Hi All! I have not been on the Forum as much since healing after my ileostomy reversal, getting used to the new normal and going on the road to visit family and friends. Today was a "big deep breath day" going for the 18 month scan. My oncologist shared the results immediately and so grateful for NED...
Thanks to all of you on the Forum for sharing your experiences and expertise so that others feel comforted and informed. It helps all of us tremendously.
Life after the reversal has been challenging and getting used to the new normal; food triggers, how much and when to eat, traveling, scoping out all bathrooms, exercising, timing of everything. I would do it again.
While I was on chemo I had to defer a race that I had signed up for prior to cancer so have some unfinished business and started my running training schedule for a 10 miler in May... going to finish it even if I walk it! :-)

Thanks Kim! Exhaling for now. Need to stay vigilant with screenings, diet and mindfulness.

Congrats on the NED! Way to go on the training too! Man, I have some work to do apparently, you are both abitious and inspiring. I'm not in anywhere NEAR that kind of shape.
That's just impressive!
Thomas
Thanks Thomas! It always helps to share your goals with others so now that I've put it out there I'm pretty motivated. Ha Ha. Will say that training has been gradual to not over do it. Abdomen area despite ileostomy reversal in July is still sensitive and did strain former "stoma baby" so now mindful about how much strength training I do.
