A glimmer of hope
so my husband called the office today and said someone needed to call him back. So finally they did and he actually has an appointment with the surgeon. I still don’t know for sure if he will get surgery but he is willing to talk to him about options. He wants another scan which is the 21st. His concern is not the omentum nodule but where the tumor is located in the liver. I also said this to the oncologist from the start since it’s in the caudate lobe and it’s very vascular and most surgeons won’t touch it, she said it would not be a problem. It apparently is. However I am hoping that he could resect the part of the liver with the area that is on the incision line from the last one. They feel that has cancer encapsulated in it, and maybe they could ablate the one they can’t cut. This is why if you don’t know the answer for sure you should keep your mouth shut because the nurse said she overheard them and he wasn’t doing it because of the nodule, that’s not it.
I am still going forward with Sloan because they are insisting he still does maintenance chemo on the 22nd and my pessimistic side is saying they know you can’t have chemo and surgery so they must still not be telling me something. I don’t trust them at all anymore, which is not good. This is a major hospital(Yale) with a dedicated cancer center (Smillow), I expected more. I am still concerned and afraid he is just meeting with us to tell us why he can’t help us, I would be really happy to be wrong.
Thank you everyone who has been so kind and supportive the past few days, I really can’t thank you enough.

It's good that you are going to enlist the opinion of another doctor. It's important to cover all your bases. Praying for good outcome.
