Tracheal metastasis of small cell cancer

Hi

I'm new here and just today we found out that my grandpa from my dad's side has lung cancer that has metastized to his whole trachea which makes it very difficult to breathe. We live in Greece and my dad booked a flight and went there yesterday. My grandpa has all the symptoms that a cancer patient of that sort would have which include a dry cough, breathlessness, a hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing, coughing up blood, wheezing and noisy breathing. The doctors have said that it's a tracheal metastasis from a small cell lung cancer. We don't know if that's what it is exactly because like i said it hasn't been very long since we found but they're starting chemo tomorrow. The cancer is spreading super fast, it has spread a lot in just 2 weeks. Now to be honest me and my grandpa weren't really that close but he's still my grandpa and i love and care about him and I'm still worried. What's more worrying though is that my dad is stressing a lot which I know is normal considering the situation but he's not the kind of person who likes to talk about these things. He's devastated and I want to be there for him but I don't know how if he won't open up to me. The doctors gave my grandpa a month and a half to live which was a blow to the stomach and makes things even worse. I would really appreciate it if you could give me any type of advice about how to handle this or info about this type of cancer because all i can find on the web is that this type of cancer is super rare. I can't find any survival rates or anything specific. Any type of help would be highly appreciated.
