Rectal cancer surgical reattachment guidance

Hi,

I’m about 6 weeks out from diagnosis with stage 3 rectal cancer.  Mayo has classified my cancer as T3N1M0 (Per imaging done on 1/30).  My tumor is about 7.5cm from the anal verge.  Regarding reattachment surgey per LAR/TME, I’ve had surgeons suggest everything from straight attachment to J-pouch to Side-end pouch. I’d welcome experience (especially 2+ years out) from fellow rectal cancer survivors with these respective approaches.  Literature I’ve read suggests pros&cons to each and even surgeons I respect a great deal seem to differ.

Looking for that crystal ball that leads to the best long term quality of life that I know doesn’t exist :-)

Thanks for any insights!
