Glad you found us here. I
Glad you found us here. I also had a cystic tumor, Bosniak 3. For cystic mass, the key factor is the complexity, if there is no solid component and only hairline septa. It can be benign. For a bosiak 4 mass, doctor usually treat it as malignant. From researches, the prognosis is relatively better, which can be the tumor burden is lower than solid tumors.
Check this management guideline below, it should give you a better idea and options regarding cystic mass. Good luck!

Thanks for the info...CTicemantoo said:6.8 cm
Hopeful,
While we hope it is just a simple cyst, given its size they will probably want to remove it in any event. Even at 6.8 cm you still can have a good prognosis, The CT is the gold standard and it should give a definitive answer.

Me too
Hi Hopeful,
I had an ultrasound on 1/23. On Feb 9th I got a call that I had a 5cmx2.7x3.8 septated complex cyst with a solid component and no fluid seen in the lower pole of my right kidney. Wednesday on Valentines Day I had a MRI. Waiting for the results.....
i just wanted to thank you for your post. I am not alone in the waiting.
