Great News
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my good news! When I started reading posts on this forum back in March 2017 I was desperately seeking hope! My mother had been diagnosed with bowel cancer and we were frightened. It had metastasised, she underwent a large operation, lost a lot of weight and was very weak, her CEA level was 1124. 6 weeks later chemo began, folfox. After 6 rounds her tumour was reduced by 70% and CEA was 300. She began to get stronger and enjoy a better quality of life, she began avastain and 5 FU, but that was stopped after 3 rounds due to neuropathy. She had no chemo for two months and just had a scan. Today, her tumour is reduced by a further 1/3, her CEA is 16. Thank you all so much, you made my dark days brighter. It would lift your heart to see her, she has a great appetit, is back making marmalade and has put on a stone and a half, she is looking and feeling wonderful. Cathy xx
