The middle of the nite
just diagnosed with recurrence. I don’t have kids or a partner. What do you do when you wake up in the middle of the night scared and alone, overwhelmed by worry or just feeling physically bad?

Night
I'm sorry for what you are going through. One of the things you can always do is come here to vent to people who understand. Recurrence is scary and you aren't alone with what you are feeling. Night seems especially difficult.
Aside from that, there's support groups offered through a lot of hospitals or community centers which may give you the chance to be around others going through similar. If interested, look around and keep looking until you find one that feels right. There's also "Meet up" groups etc., on Facebook. Sometimes just attending 1 or 2 sessions helps.
I have family, but they don't help at all. I'd like to think they would have the answers and provide some consolation but they just don't. So, I guess sometimes we have to find it in other places.
Take care of yourself. Post here as much as you want. Blessings to you.

I pray
I pray and read scriptures that offer comfort and hope. It is great that you are reaching out on this site. There are a lot of people here who not only care, but can relate to what you are going through. I agree with Ginger about support groups. There is a lot of help out there, don't go through this alone.

Support Groups
Theadora, here is the link to the location on this website to reserch support groups in your area: https://www.cancer.org/treatment/support-programs-and-services.html. Also, go to the "home" page of this site, and just look for relevant topics; there's even a section on "recurrence." I made a cancer buddy on this website who was diagnosed the same time as me with the same type of cancer and even the same stage. She and I have e-mailed each other almost every day, and it has really helped a lot. I hope you find someone to connect with who is experiencing your type of cancer. Please feel free to send me an e-mail through this site; I promise to respond quickly. There's no reason to go through this alone. Best success and God bless.
