Please someone help me

Someone please help me, I'm so scared. I'm 47 yrs old never smoked nor been a drinker. For the last 2 weeks out of no where I began having difficulty getting food down. It sticks at the base of my throat, no matter how fine I chew my food it sticks. I have also been having a really dry mouth. I carry a water bottle with me constantly drinking it as I have post nasal drip. I have seen a GI doc for my issue which I am currently awaiting an upper GI. I don't know what to do, I went to the ER twice for this and they do absolutely nothing but send me home and tell me to follow up with my physician. Anyone with thoughts, comments?

    Hello Summer,

    You seem to be doing the right thing by going to a gastroenterologist.  An endoscopy is the 1st test to see if you have or don't have EC.  Dysphagia (trouble swallowing) can have many different causes.  Hopefully yours is caused by something not as serious as EC.

    The symptoms sound very familiar to mine, If it is just starting, I suggest checking for colon cancer. Don't wait on finding out what is going on please. I wish you the best possible and that it is not.
