5 Years 3 months Cancer Free
Hi to everyone. Some may remember me; I don't come on very often. I was diagnosed in Feb. 2012 with Stage 3b Anal Cancer. Received treatment and was declared cancer free July 24, 2012. I'm feeling very blessed and thankful today. Found out the results of a recent CAT scan. I remain NED! For my own psychological well being, I try to keep thoughts of cancer out of my mind, so i don't visit this site very often. I do like to share good test results to encourage those undergoing the grueling treatment at this time that life goes on and it is GOOD and worth the battle. Blessings to all those fighting this battle now and to all the long-term survivors on this site! LIFE IS GOOD!

Congratulations!
This is such awesome news! 5 years + is huge! I am so happy for you! I hope you are feeling good and enjoying every day. I can certainly understand wanting to not think about this disease every day. I'm glad you are able to do that. Take good care and drop in to give us an update now and then. I wish you NED always! Hugs!

Thank you for sharing the good news! You give all of us hope. I thought I was going to die when I was told I had Stage 3 anal cancer in January 2017. My oncologists told me Stage 3 is curable so I did the chemo/radiation. My PET scan in June was NED. I plan on going to Disney World before my PET scan in December. Keeping cancer out if my mind. My husband and I are having fun again.

Thanks for sharing your good
Thanks for sharing your good news. It gives hope to the rest of us. I'm 3b (1 node in pelvic area plus nodes alongside tumor) also and have just one week left of treatments (radiation and chemo). Up to now everything is good but occasional bouts of diarrhea to battle with. But that won't stop me from going to see my son at Christmas (I'm from Minnesota but live in spain and now my son lives in minnesota, two grandchildren) even if I have to wear adult diapers for the plane ride to minnesota. Surgery planned for February. Surgeon pushing for colostomy bag because tumor in rectum is touching sphinter muscle that controls so that is also scaring me. Anyway just wanted to thank you for giving hope to me.
