    Your preparation will pay off.

Good luck with your appointment. Hopefully all of your questions will be answered and you will be prepped for the surgery mentally. The wait to get rid of the cancer was worse than the operation. Positive thoughts for you and your family.

I wish you all the best! I

I wish you all the best! I can tell you that once I saw the surgeon and had everything booked I felt like a new person. To be honest, I have barely even thought about this whole mess since. For me I think just having everything in place and knowing it is being taken care of has put me at ease. Good luck!!!!! I found out in August as well and cannot wait to get the surgery over with. It is the waiting and not knowing that can be awful. You are almost there!!!!!! Be strong!!!

    I'm betting dollars to donuts

I'm betting dollars to donuts that once you meet with the surgeon you will feel a big weight lifted off your shoulders. I remember our meeting. Our surgeon was great and I even recorded the meeting on my phone so we could watch it and have the whole thing to go back over later so we would not miss anything he said. Wishing you well on getting the Little Demon out and getting on with things.

    Plan

Boon's right.  Once you get a plan in place things really seem to roll right along.  Good luck and keep us updated!

    Everything falls into place

from here on out. I audio recorded the visit, took pictures he brought up on the screen of the tumor. It was a great help when we got home and talking, questioning if we were certain he said this or that. I see BoondockSaint visually recorded their visit, great idea also! Hopefully you will feel relieved after visit, and surgery/testing gets set up. Keep us updated and best of luck to you!

    Game Plan

Hoping that you are comfortable with your surgeon, that all your questions are answered and that once your surgery is scheduled you find peace amongst the anxiety.

    Welllll

The news is in almost what we were expecting but with a twist. ..The small mass is deep in the kidney close to the middle..The surgeon will have to do in partial neph instead over laproscopic. ..A ltitle more painful and a little more recovery time but they still believe this should be a 1 and done thing " so to speak" they will call me for a surgery  date in November. .. Thank you all for the well wishes..Keep praying for me and I will you!!! Feeling a bit down this afternoon. I know that I'm lucky to caught it early but man what a ride so far and more to go yet!!  It sure take the wind out of your sails if you let it. I will stay focused on diet and exercise and hopefully whip this cancer tail!!!

    It’s Small

Good News but sure wish you didn’t have to deal with the consequences

I am a bit  confused by what method you are getting.  Are they doing an open partial..?

This will be a tough road for you but one you will come sailing through

You be done and on the way back before you know it and in time for holidays and new year

    Good Luck

    Annie

    Yes

Yes open partial , I was hoping for laproscopic but it's not in he cards for me. He states it's to close/ deep to veins and things for laproscopic so he wI'll have to do it hand.

    Hang in there Trucker

Soon that little trouble maker will be part of your past.  You should feel so fortunate that it was found early.  And don't worry too much about the ups & downs of emotions, it's to be expected.  It's definitely a scary roller coaster ride you're on right now and it takes time to adjust to the fact that it's happening to you and you have little control over it.  It will get better, I promise.

    Best wishes & prayers,

    Donna~

    Hey Trucker1

You and I will probably be having our ops at the same time for the same size mass.  Mine is also in the middle, but lower lobe of right kidney.  My guy will be doing a manual laproscopic partial nephrectomy.   This is what he specialises in, tells me you need to be good at the stitching to do a partial neph laproscopically.  My operation is November 9th, did you get your date scheduled yet?

Trucker, it won't be as bad

Trucker, it won't be as bad as you fear. Mine was open also and I was out of hospital on the third day. Up walking the evening of the surgery. Wasn't fun and don't want to do it again but nothing like I feared in my imagination. All the best to you!
