in Lymphoma (Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin) #1

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help answer some questions. I recently had a pet/ct scan and lymphnodes were shown that had a suv up as high as 6.9. Does inflamation go that high. I am having a biopsy monday and not sure about any of this. Please someone respond???

    i cannot definitively answer your question about SUVs for inflammation. I will say that when I was diagnosed my highest SUV was 3.8 and I had stage IV FNHL.

    I have been not feeling well

    I have been not feeling well since january. They kept treating me for phemonia and broncitis saying my lungs were inflamed.Then in the last two months i started getting lyphnodes on my neck that have just got bigger. Also have had fevers night sweats.They went to do a biopsy of what they thought was a lymphnode in my groin area but turned out to be a cyst. Then they said my ovary looked not normal. So they did the pet scan and the ovary had a suv of 6.9 . And the lyphnodes in my neck were 6.7. So i am having the neck lyphnodes biopsy tomorrow. It is a little upsetting they cant find whats wrong. I just have felt bad for a while.

    where did you have the areas

    where did you have the areas of concern on your pet scan. If you dont mind me asking?

    The World Health Organization lists over 68,000 human illnesses and diseases. About 125 are cancer types. Our bodies are capable of producing about 150 symptoms. By simple math, that is 450+ possible diseases per symptom. Two symptoms, 900+ illnesses. So yes, it takes quite some time to narrow it down.
