I amd 53 and just diagnosed with ILC, which they believe is stage 1 but won't know for sure until I have Lumpectomy.  My head is spinning.

Believe it or not, I had a different cancer in past treated successfully twice. This was last thing I expected and whole new ballgame.

They said I will need radiation after and I've heard tallk about 6 week version, 1 week(Brachytherapy) and hypofractionated Radiation Therapy.

Has anyone done the 1 week Radiation (do they put radiation seeds inside breast)?  Having the go daily for 6 weeks sounds horrible.

Thank You!

    rhanson,

Hypo-fractionated radiation can be completed in four weeks without the catheters or or Mammosite device implanted in your breast.  Best of luck, and let me know if I can answer any questions about hypo-fractionated radiation.
