goodbye hair

My hair started the dreaded shedding yesterday (day 15 of AC chemo)

I've gotten my hair cut shorter last week in preparation - short layered 'do but it's coming out quickly. I'm afraid to brush it this morning, let alone wash it.

It has a different texture from normal, it feels coarse all over and my whole scalp feels sunburned.

I had an appointment on Thursday to get a wig but unfortunately my chemo ran longer than expected and I had to reschedule until Tuesday of next week. I did buy a cute little cap to wear to work just in case it gets worse than I planned on this weekend.

On a happier note, I ordered myself a super comfy oversized recliner with memory foam and massage features and it's finally going to be delivered today! Yay

    already signed up :)

I'm already signed up for this class but it's not until the 25th of this month. I was planning on having the wig ready before the hair started going but looks like I missed that deadline ;)

It's all good, I'm not stressing myself out about it. It is what it is and it will eventually come back - it's only hair.

How wonderful to have such a great chair!  Congratulations on thinking ahead for yourself.   I bought a few scarf hats from TLCdirect, and I would say they were reasonable in price and comfortable to wear.

i know it will seem like an eternity to be without hair, but having gone through most of my treatment in the Fall of the year as well, the hats were not so bad.  I actually found a few favorites, and as the seasons turn back to cooler temperatures, as I put on a few things I remember that black hat I wore with my purple sweater.  So many people commented on it!  Embrace your new fashion choices!  It will only be a memory in the near future.  Create a fashion experience for yourself!

thanks for for sharing with us!

    Blessings!
