On Nov 9th 2011 my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer including 2 mets to liver and 1 to peritoneum.

He underwent surgery and got an ileostomy for 8 months. Luckily his surgeon got all the cancer. After 6 months of chemo (8 cycles of Xeloda including 6 with Oxaliplatin) the ileostomy was removed in June 2012. Since then he was monitored closely, first every 3 months, later in longer time intervals.

During all the time this great board was such a tremendous help and I will never forget the support and information shared by so many wonderful members, many now gone far too early :-(

Today I have good news to share: This week it was check-time again and result of the latest CT: all clear, no signs of cancer found. Still NED.

Next check in 12 months!Who could have imagined this 5 years and 9 months ago. So neve give up!!!

Happy greetings from Cologne, Germany.

Petra
