Optimistic Girl thinking of you

Thank you!
Surgery was yesterday morning, surgeon says all went as expected and no visual signs of spreading. You know the pain in the side you both have? His is gone now, replaced by a different pain, but hopefully this one will subside over time. Pain control is his biggest issue right now. Dr said they need to control the pain, he needs to walk and keep solid food down before kicking him out the door. He has 5 small incisions on his belly and about 4 inch one on his side. Pathology might be ready before he leaves, that is next hurdle to deal with. We take one step at a time. Seems more manageable broken down into small steps rather than one massive problem hanging overhead.
How are you doing? Thank you again for thinking of us!
