Hi. I waited 3 months for
Hi. I waited 3 months for stupid reasons. I wish I would have gotten the surgery sooner because the chemo didn't work so good for me & I had positive nodes not affected by chemo. My Dr didn't think it had spread to my nodes from the testing done before this so I thought waiting would be ok. I had 2 tumors & one wasn't very affected by the chemo either. I hope I didn't let it spread by not getting surgery right away. Good luck. I hope the chemo worked for you.

Thanks for the response. Did you get additional chemo after surgery?

Thanks for the response.Teach76 said:3 months
I had swelling in my legs, so surgeon wanted me cleared by a cardiologist before scheduling. Then once scheduled I had shingles 3 days before surgery - postponed another month.
Thanks for the response. Wondering if you received more chemo after surgery? Any issues from the delay of surgery?

Normal path
I did not receive chemo after surgery, just 26 radiation treatments. Once that was finished I was put on an aromatase inhibitor for 5 to 10 years because my tumor was ER+.
as to the delay in surgery, the surgeon did not feel it was an issue. What I felt was an issue is that I was told, "Congratulations, your post chemo MRI does not show any tumor." Fast forward, there were 2 areas of cells that were still there, but somewhat hidden for the MRI.
all was fine in the end, and now they are just watching those 2 areas which appear to be just scar tisSue, probably caused by radiation.
