I only had chemo and radiation- no surgery- so I don't have an answer. I have known people with iliostomy reversals and they seem to have a lot of problems at first and then it gets better but I don't know the details. Have you asked your question on the colorectal cancer site? If your stools are really loose, Immodium might help. I'm very sorry for your situation- it sounds like it is going to be hard to work like that.

Steven...
Hi, and congratulations on completing treatment and your recent reversal. I have a colostomy but for me it is permanent. I am part of an in-person ostomy support group and we do have a couple members who have had reversals though and pop in to update others on how things are going. It seems that your current issues are common for sveral months, but that things do improve in time. Maybe keeping a food journal you may be able to tell what foods trigger these cluster movements for you???? I am also part of an on-line support group and there is a link for "ostomy reversals"...you may find some tips there to help get you back to work with less worry!

Cluster Problem
I am in a similar situation in Vancouver. July 29 2016 surgery for rectal tumor after chemo and ileostomy pouch for a year until July 5 2017 reversal surgery. Much clustering and unable really to go out. Trying sacral neural electrical stimulation SNES via a pelvic floor therapist. Suggestions much appreciated on how to reach a reasonable new normal.

Cluster Problem
Had rectal cancer surgery back one year ago and still not really able to leave home. I have no control Or know when it's going to happen. Can you tell me
what is a sacral neural electrical stimulation SNES. Can someone who had rectal cancer be able to use it. Is this something you can clean yourself out. Do you
know?

Hi,
Sorry I can't be of much help but I bet you'll get some better answers if you post your question to the Colorectal site (just a bit further down the list) This is anal cancer and while we share many similarities, treatment is a bit different than for rectal cancer. Good luck though, hang in there...
