Feeding tube bleeding
Hi, I have been taking care of my mom who has been on an uphill battle with tongue cancer. She has had a feeding tube for the past five months. She is in constant pain in the area directly around the entrance into her body. She has always had some stuff (some blood and other discharge) but tonight when she changed the guaze pad around the feeding tube it started bleeding pretty bad. Not super bad to be an emergency but enough to stain her shirt and start dripping. It did stop after a few minutes. My question now is, Is this a normal thing? Is there anything we can do to help ease the pain and bleeding? Thanks in Advance for any help.
