Biopsy
On Tuesday, Ausust 8, I am scheduled to have a needle biopsy to assess a nodule on my upper right lobe. A PET san showed that the area of the nodule lit up. Now the biopsy is to find out if the nodule is cancer. has anyone had this type of biopsy? Is it painful? Thank you for any comments.

Needle Biopsy
I have had two of these biopsies. Please do not worry. The first one I had was in 2007 and was given Fentanyl. The only thing I felt was a slight pinch. The second one was this year, 2017, with no IV medication. There were a couple of pinches but the radiologist immediately injected more local anesthetic. Afterwards you will be observed for a couple of hours and a chest X-ray will be taken to make sure there is no pneumothorax (air in the pleural space). Do not be apprehensive.

How kind of you to take the time to reply to me. This is the first time I ever posted on a forum and now I can understand why they appeal to people so much. Just reading your comforting reply made me feel so much easier about the procedure. thank you.
