I've waited all this time only to find out MRI doesn't she defentive  c characteristic of a cyst or cyst area tried of being in pain & not knowing what's going on

    MRI vs CT Scan

    I'm a MRI technologist and it's my understanding that a MRI with and without contrast will diagnose a renal cyst vs tumor. CAT scans are usually performed because they are much faster and cheaper as well.  Having said that, my doctor ordered a CAT scan instead of MRI knowing that I could easily get a MRI. Was your MRI with and without contrast?

    They did both and I did a ct

    They did both and I did a ct scan prior to this
