Medicare?
Is anyone else here on Medicare? I went on Medicare in February. I just got in the mail today that Medicare denied coverage for doctor and for Pet/Ct which diagnosed my BC. Just what I needed today to add to the sense of giving up! I am on A, B, and F. This was the best coverage I could buy. The scan cost more than 10k. I am about to blow my top! I never had any problems with health insurance before!!! Has anyone else been denied coverage by Medicare?

Camul
Thanks! I called the hospital billing deparment today and they said they will straighten it out and not to worry. I trust the gentleman that I spoke to so I am putting it aside for now. I love my hospital!
I hope you are having a good day, Camul. I have read some of your posts and I admire your courage!

UGH, insurance companies
Could be a simple clerical error like a number off, a billing code punched in wrong. This happened to my father the other day over his eye surgery. I hope this is what it is for you. Sometimes insurance companines fight about paying for a PET. If that is the case refer it back to doc and sometimes their office can put it a different way to get them to accept it.
Hugs,
Annie

I have a combined insurance
I have a combined insurance of a Blue Cross/Blue Shield with Medicare. Some physicians here do not want Medicare because of some unknown reason. But health insurance plans have their own demons too. I have had fought with them because of their lateness or lack of response. Hope you solve the problem. I gat a lot of Medicare/Triple S plan letters and have found a lot of code errors. When physicians correct the billing codes, they get paid.

It is not courage!!!
It is what I was dealt! I just didn't want to be cranky all the time. The last few months have been really hard staying up. I know I am out of options and the pain has gotten really bad. We keep upping the pain meds but it works for so long then it is time to raise it again and I sle p more and more. I have had wonderful doctors mostly and each one treats it differently, depending on their training and experiences. Now it is hospice and I was fortunate to get my pain specialist as my hospice doctor and her staff has been amazing.
it has been a very hard journey and the last 8 months have been unbearable so much of the time. So I work on trying to be positive.
i wish you th best on all of this and hope they get the billing taken care of. They are usually very good at that!

I am sorry if I used the wrong word. You are a fighter and you are dealing with it with humor and grace, but you keep it real. . As I face cancer for the third time, and try to make the right decisions, you have had an effect on me and I admire you for sharing your experience and for reaching out to others even though you are in immense pain. I don't know what the correct word is, but I appreciate your being there, on the other side of a keyboard somewhere sharing all that you are going through. thank you.
