Has Anybody Heard of Taking Low Dose Asprin To Prevent An Occurance or Recurrance of Breast Cancer?
I just read an article on a Breast Cancer Website about the cancer fighting properties of low dose asprin for many cancers, including breast cancer. Is anybody taking low dose asprin for this purpose? I googled it after reading the article, and there have been many studies and articles written about it. Is there any merit to this?

Low dose aspirin
I was doing this for a couple of years about 4 years ago but my oncologist told me that intially that was a promising lead but since the initial findings, the secondary findings are not nearly as good. So he told me that I could stop taking the aspirin. As an aside, I have issues with anemia and so being ont he aspirin was a stress on my system. He may have kept me on them if it weren't for the exacerbating factor of anemia.

My oncologist has me on low-dose aspirin
My oncologist also let me know a few years ago that he felt the data on low-dose aspirin helping to prevent both breast cancer and colon cancer was strong enough to recommend that I take a daily baby aspirin. I've been on it ever since, and all my other doctors (primary care, surgeon, OB/GYN) know about it and are fine with it. I haven't specifically discussed it with my oncologist recently.
Unlike Clementine, I have no side effects or issues from the aspirin other than I bruise if you look at me too hard
-- just unsightly, not painful or harmful at all. So, even if the data has changed somewhat, my oncologist may feel that it can't hurt for me to stay on it.Traci

There is a preliminary study published on May 1, 2017 in the Journal of Breast Cancer Research. This is the conclusion of the study. I was just wondering if anybody has had a doctor recommend taking low dose asprinto prevent cancer.
Conclusion
Our observation of reduced risk of breast cancer, among participants who took three or more tablets of low-dose aspirin weekly, is consistent with other reports looking at aspirin without differentiation by dose. This is the first report to suggest that the reduction in risk occurs for low-dose aspirin and not for regular-dose aspirin and only among women with the hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative subtype. This preliminary study builds on previous knowledge and further supports the need for formal cancer chemoprevention studies of low-dose aspirin
