Still kicking - after 21 years
Hi everyone,
I had breast cancer in 1995 and a new lump in 2011 and am fine these many years later! After hanging out on the anal cancer site lately (yes, now I have THAT), I realized I should come back here and just share some of my journey with you. I had a lumpectomy ONLY in 1995 (refused the rest), and then in 2011 had another lumpectomy, lymph node removal (25 - 4 positive) and radiation. I was then Stage 3. I didn't do chemo as it was really never pushed. I know I have been one LUCKY girl, and I wish the same for all of you. Sending you all much love in your journeys as you are all my sisters.

Good for you! I wonder what type of breast cancer you had? I am newly diagnosed and learning that saying you have breast cancer is not the same as saying you have any cancer because there are all types of breast cancer and so all types of treatment. Sort of like saying you have a flower garden, but not mentioning what types of flowerS. Some breast cancers are aggressive and some are pretty benign. Were you HER2 positive? I am learning that is the aggressive cancer and only about 12% of breast cancers are HER2 positive.

Just want to hello. August 1st will be my 1 year diagnosis. How are you doing?
I am doing well so far and pray that I continue to do so. Looking forward to my 3 month check up next month. Hoping that my blood pressure and heart rate don't go way up like it normally does now....every time I enter a doctor's office.....the anxiety!!! How are you?
