Does this US of Thyroid mean what I think it means? Probable Biopsy
Hi everyone,
History of Hoshimoto's Hypothyroidism and Pancreatic Cancer and Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. Not new to cancer but looking at definitions of this Ultrasound of Thyroid has me a bit suspicious. Can anyone educate me on this?
TECHNIQUE: Multiple longitudinal and transverse real-time sonographic
images of the thyroid are obtained.
FINDINGS: The thyroid measures 3.1 x 0.9 x 1.3 cm on the right and
3.0 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm on the left , in length, AP and width respectively.
The thyroid isthmus measures 0.2 cm in thickness. The thyroid is
diminutive in size with diffuse, heterogenous decreased echogenicity.
No definite focal nodule is seen. There is normal vascularity.
No definite adjacent abnormal cervical lymph nodes are seen.
IMPRESSION:
Small, heterogenous hypoechoic thyroid gland. No definite focal nodule
seen.

No. I'm not qualified to
No. I'm not qualified to read that, but to me as a survivor that sounds relatively normal. But it's been months since you posted, so what did you find out?
