My Husband is 3 months out and still is experiencing the same pain as day one... (He had SSC on base of tongue... 35 radiation and 5 chemo-cisplatin)

Went to the dr. on Thurs, and he believes my husband has "consequential tissue injury" which means his body hasn't healed well and did not keep up with the radiation. (He is still only consuming liquids and lost 80 pounds.)

He prescribed Trental to help with the healing, but it is making my husband throw up.

The dr. said the next step would be a hyperbaric chamber...

Has anyone experienced this?  Doctor said it is rare.  Lucky us...

    bummer

    rsp,

I have not taken a dive, but as you may have read many H&N members go through multiple dives for dental work.

I am sorry your husband is going through this, treatments are rough enough.

    Better days ahead,

    Matt

    HBO

I went through 38 dives of HBO to help with healing of jaw in order to have my last 4 lower teeth removed and have 4 posts put in to have a permanent denture.  The HBO really does help with healing.
