Radiotherapy- Hodgkin's lymphoma

Hi,

I May get a 15 day radiotherapy after 4 ABVD chemo cycles. My affected areas are multiple cervicular lymphatic nodes in the neck and lymph nodes in the mediastinal region(in the chest). Considering the affected areas, where I would be given the radiotherapy, Can I please get an idea about the side effects it May cause?

Thank you so much in advance and have a healthy life ahead!! :)

    Swati,

They will apply the radiation to the ares where lymphoma is present.

Combining radiation to the drug Adriamycin in AVBD slightly increases the chances of later developing Leukemia, but the increased risk is small.  Better to kill the cancer now than not, however. I would not accept mixing the two myself.
