Antibiotic Use May Damper the Efficacy of Checkpoint Inhibitors
I am just reposting a post from another forum, thinking some of us might be interested.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just thought I would share this information,
In essence, the article states that gut bacteria plays a key role in the fight against cancer, but when beneficial stomach bacteria is destroyed by antibiotics, people battling mrcc with immunotherapy have poorer outcomes.
Here is the link to the article. Sorry to be an "alarmist", but i think it is something to be considered. Hence if Opdivo didnt work for you, and you were taking antibiotics while being treated, it is possible that the antibiotics interefered with the drug.
