Good heavens, folks...!!

Lately I haven't always been on the forum to check the kidney cancer discussion board every day.  As a result, when I've been gone a few days and I do check, there are SCADS of comments to read. Yikes! What's WITH us kidney folks?!

Please DON'T STOP writing, reading, asking, commenting! I look at other cancer-specific discussion boards and on some of them there's very little interaction.  Obviously, we're the supportive (and chatty) place for kidney cancer folks and their significan others.  Glad we found this place, sorry we needed to.  Cancer may not be a very good thing, but this discussion board is.

WOOT!

I'm also glad we're a friendly bunch, glad we feel free to ask - chat - answer - encourage (and insert a little humor) --

Jerzy

    Ditto Ladies!

Couldn't agree more.  Only wish I'd found this group of special people before my surgery, such a wise group.

    Yep, I agree

I usually check in every couple of days, and read, and comment from time to time.  I want to check up on those on this forum who are always so helpful, and see if there is any wisdom I can add for newbies.  It seems easier to put uncomfortable topics here than on other forums.  Probably because humor is pretty evident here.

People here are honest, but supportive. They'll tell you what you need to hear, and Ive found in my short time here that the support and perspective is invaluable.

    Time has flown...

I had to look up when I joined.  Can't believe it was Feb. 2009;  that's over 8 years ago.  This body had already been throught the hardest part of three cancer surgeries, a dislocated foot with triple fractures of the tibia/fibula, and a thumb surgery to remove the problem (trigger thumb) created from being on crutches over 7 weeks with the ankle.

Ya'all have been here through the other ups and downs that come with tests, living with the BIG C that could be found on the next CT, the maybe vague mammograms, the full work-up for potential problem with my thyroid, and the hospitalization in Mexico for Bronchitis.

Just give me Normal and Blah and NED.  That's what I got for #74 yesterday; along with going out for Middle Eastern food for dinner.

Even friends don't quite understand that Kidney Cancer comes with different definitions.  They say, "You're in Remission.": I say No Evidence of Disease.

I'll be having company over the weekend...daughter and one grandson, so need to stock up on groceries.  An almost 17 year old 6'2" Soccer player needs to eat all the time.  S-i-l will stay home to keep the college student company.

    Take care and Hugs
