Papillary thyroid cancer found after surgery
I'm 17 years old and 2 months ago I had a total thyroidectomy due to having 7 nodules, which all came back benign. However, a week after surgery my Endocrinologist called and said that the pathology report indicated that they found a small tumor in my thyroid that was Stage 1. I've had thyroid issues my whole life; Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's disease and a goiter since I was 7 years old. Starting about 2 years ago I started having problems with a hoarse voice, and difficulty breathing. I thought that from getting my surgery I would no longer have these problems however, I still do very badly. Last week I had my CT scan to see whether or not the cancer spread, but I still haven't gotten the results. As much as I want to hear that there is no cancer, I know that these issues with my neck aren't normal and there's still an obvious bulge in my neck. Has anyone else had an experience like this or have any advice?
