Broken machine!!!!!!
GRRR. Up early drive to cancer center for radiation. Took the horrible little pill for anxiety an hour before treatment. Went to the changing room to find two other ladies already waiting. The machine was broken. Soon a theripist came in to tell us a gain that the machine wasn't working. They couldn't get the water that kept it at a certain temp to work. They finally told us we should go and they could call,us when it was, ready. We all lived over and hours away. We went shopping called at noon and were told that there was no chance for.today. To come back Monday and that if it wasn't fixed by then they, would call. We leave at 7:00. Any bets I will get a call before we are on the road. Besides no,getting the, radiation today. There is a good chance that this will throw all the appointments I have with my medical oncologist off.
just my rant for the day. Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Know the feeling
Lou Ann,
Get this one: I was having major surgery in another state. (3 hours) Had my sister-in-law (who lives 4 hours away) come stay with the kids. Got a hotel room for the night before and had just drank the stuff to clear the bowels when I got a call that they cancelled my surgery for the next morning! I was really upset and was crying because I had mentally prepared myself until I found out that my doctor was in the hospital with possible meningitis. They postponed the surgery for the next month. Ugh!
It really is annoying though! Making arrangements and such to come there. I hope it doesn't mess up the other appointments. Please rant all you want! When youre dealing with cancer we want everything else to be normal! Hugs!

Dang it! Hard enough to get
Dang it! Hard enough to get yourself there to face it without having it pulled like that. Sorry Lou Ann. Keep ranting - you certainly earned it. I hope you get those last two completed without further issues.

Can't even imagine
Lou Ann I can't even imagine what you are going through with this radiaition. You have been through so much and have done it with grace and style for the most part. Screaming on this site is what we are here for. I remember doing that when our family got hit with cancer No. 3 and 4 in a little over a year. I think I started my post something like "enough is enough". Thinking of you and so many of us take inspiration from you posts and are cheering you on whether you can hear us or not.

I had a similar experience
I had a similar experience with my local radiation machine - it broke down right before my turn and they sent me away. They called back a few hours later and had me come in. Once I got there they then told me I would be the first one to use it since it was fixed - nothing like being the guinea pig! Ultimately it was fine but it's pretty scary thinking about all the pieces of that huge machine that need to work together for it to run properly!
Hope it all worked out for you and you were able to get back on track with the rest of your treatments!

I am done
They never got the machine working on Friday, so I was the first to try it out on Monday. Last one today. We went and came home in a snow storm, but it is done. They let me keep the face mask, I have no idea what I am going to.do with it. The good news is that the tumor in my neck is shrinking and my shoulder and arm do not hurt as much. The radiologist says that the radiation will keep working for another month.
Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Lou Ann, so happy you
Lou Ann, so happy you finished these treatments. I hope it knocks it down for a long, long, time.

Mount it!
It's your trophy! Maybe you could mount it for display to commemorate what you have overcome! ;-) Getting through that round of radiation sure is an accomplishment worthy of some kind of award. In any case, I hope the disappearance of that pesky tumor is your prize! Congrats, LouAnn!

Woo Hoo! You did it. I knew
Woo Hoo! You did it. I knew you would get through this with flying colors. Great news to hear the tumor is shrinking. I'm so glad things are going in the right direction for you.

Sucks to hear this! But I
Sucks to hear this! But I seriously think that these machines break quite often. It happened once for my mom and she had to come back the next day.
On the other hand, happy to hear that your treatment is working! Woo!0
