Re: Cancer Blood Level still lower
Hi Ladies:
I wanted to update you on my appt today with my oncologist regarding the reoccurrence of UPSC I have been diagnosed with since October of 2016. My latest CA 125 number is now down to 49. It started at 134 so the number is down over 85 points! It was 63 in December. This is a significant drop and really good news for now. So for now, I am sitting tight and will take it one week at a time. I go back for my next round of blood work for the cancer in mid February. He also wants me to have an ascites test (ultrasound) of the abdomen and pelvis. And I have an appt near the end of February to see my oncologist. I asked him about other women who have had UPSC a reoccurrence and he said there have been a number of women whom the blood work level decreases for so this is very encourgaging for me. I am really happy for now and so is my family. This is really good news. I just hope the blood level continues to drop. Although if it does not, I am ready to go for chemotherapy if I do need to have it done.
I asked my oncologist why the number has been falling downwards and he said I have a Strong Immune System and it is fending off the cancer cells. I still want to get it down to 35 or lower for the CA level then I will be at a normal range. I am eating healthy and well and he said to keep all that and to drink orange juice, either ice tea or green tea (and I have had a lot of green tea over the years) and also water and I drink all three during the day. Anyway, it is important to have fruits and I have been having pears and apples. I have an egg with no yolks inside for breakfast with a piece of toast (I have an Egg Substitute) and they are delicious almost every day and I really enjoy this. I prefer having the egg substitutes because I have to watch my sodium intake as I had a minor stroke in the spring of 2015 which I have since then lost between 70 to 80 lbs so I have lost a lot of weight.
I will keep you ladies updated. But for now, I can sit tight and plan to make the most of every day.
Cheerful
a/k/a Jane
