RCC mets to Liver

My RCC mets to liver and lungs two years ago.  The Sutent has been controlling them until the past three months.  My lung tumors stayed the same but my liver have doubled in size.  I underwent Y90 Therasphere last Thursday and go for followup scans in February.  Had some bad side effects but feeling better after five days.

 

Has anyone undergone this?

Had mets, but not that test?

My initial Dx in 2006 was large mass in r. kidney (was 12.5x8.5x11.5cm by path measurement) and 1-2 in left lobe of liver (1 at 8.5x5.5x8 cm).  All were removed by surgery, along with the cancerouse set of nodes.

You must have had multiple nodes in the liver, as the kind like mine was "just" removed; although they did test several right lobe wedges while they were in there.

Keep us posted.  Here is another test or treatment I've not heard of....yet.

Surgery

I had right kidney removed but my liver tumrs were very small.  I do not think surgury is an option for me.  Hopefully these radioactive isotopes will do the trick!

I dont know about the Liver but I do know that there are lots of new treatment for mets and the initial  cancer coming through very quickly

I am new to posting on this site but have followed many of your posts since April 2016 when I was first diagnosed with RCC. I want to thank many of you for the encouraging posts. Though I am a man of great faith in God, it's hard to escape the reality and shock of "you have cancer". I am 66 yrs old, very active and still working 50+ hours a week. The spot on my right kidney was discovered on a routine checkup, only because my wife scheduled an ultrasound against my wishes. Word of wisdom: men, listen to your wives, they are right some of the times! I had no symptoms whatsoever and I kept asking the doctor "are you sure that's my CT scan"? Surgery was scheduled a few weeks later on May 11th. Surgery went well. I had an open partial nephrectomy. Pathology report was: Clear cell carcinoma at the bottom of the right kidney, Stage pT1a grade 3/4. The tumor was 3.5 cm and limited to the kidney. The margins were clear. Someone posted that the best thing to do after surgery was to walk and so three days after surgery I walked 6 miles per day. I was blessed not to have any pain and went back to full time work after one week. I had a three month CT scan and all was clear. I will be going for my 10 month scan on March 2nd. Though I trust the Lord for everything and feel absolutely well as if nothing ever happened,  the thought of a grade 3/4 is always on my mind. That being said, just wondering if someone out there has also had a Stage 1 grade 3/4 and how they are doing. Thanks for all your posts and encouragement.
