RCC mets to Liver - Y90 thersphere procedure information
Morning, my name is Michael and I have been on Sutent 50 mg 14 on 7 off. Tumors in lungs and liver have been controlled for going on two years. Now liver tumor is growing and more in same quadrant.
I am a candidate for Y90 thersphere after mapping last week. Going for actual procedure January 12. Can anyone tall me of experience and results. Good or bad.

HI and welcome Michael! Yes,
HI and welcome Michael! Yes, I have heard of Y-90 treatment. My neice had this treatment. She has an inoperable liver cancer and was given less than 11 months. That was 3 years ago. Y 90 and Dr Rose, in San Diego, has given her an extension on life. It shrinks the tumor by putting it inside the liver, inside the tumor (I think). She's done a few half marathons, but chemo has been a struggle for her system. Now she has had the gene marker identified to figure out a more exact treatment. She keeps fighting onward!
Good luck! Its an amazing procedure.

I am having it done at Moffitt Cancer Center. I had IL2 prior to being on Sutent but that did not work.
