in Esophageal Cancer #1

My name is Ray Pilkington.  I was diagnosed with esophogeal carcinoma in 2014.  Had my entire esophogous removed and my stomach pulled up and re-attached in march 2015.  I lost my voice for a long time.  I could only speak in a very high-pitched screach. The surgeon said he might cut the nerve feeding my left vocal cord during surgery.  After alot of fighting, my voice is 95% back and i just posted my first ever music video on youtube.  (ray pilkington can't you see  or https://youtu.be/E-fg6nlYLcA.    ).  If you know of anyone needing encouragement,  pass it on.  A cancer diagnosis is NOT a death sentance!!!!  In the words of Jim Valvono...  "don't give up... don't EVER give up".     pilkingtonray1@gmail.com.     God bless!

    Thanks for posting your survivor story. It is great to hear you are getting back to a “new normal” and that there really is life after an esophageal cancer diagnosis. Stories like yours give hope and encouragement to people who have recently been diagnosed. May there be many more music videos.
