I've been there. I had days
I've been there. I had days when it felt like breathing was work. That was usually the point when I recieved a blood transfusion. The chemo lowered my blood count to a dangerous level and my blood pressure as well. If your doctor hasn't claimed that as the source, I would do nothing but rest. Drink lots of fluids to wash that chemo out and gradually, you'll feel better. Best wishes.

I do not have any advice (Radiation only), but I am sure others here will have helpful info.

Worn out after chemo
I was so worn out after my chemo that I did not even move forward with the next phase of my treatment for 3 months. I was not exhausted that long, but it did take quite a while for energy to return . . . Then WHAMMO - the next phase of treatment sent me right back to "fatigue village."
Be kind to your body . . if it is telling you to rest, just give in. Hope you are feeling more like yourself soon!
Peace and prayers,
Kathy

18 Weeks of Chemo; Almost Finished with 16 Radiation Treatments
Boy, do I ever feel your lack of energy! i completed 18 weeks of taxol + herceptin on November 11th; now on to 16 radiation treatments which will be completed on Monday. I found that pushing myself to go to the gym is my best medicine....nope, I don't feel like it but I make myself do it anyway. I am walking at least 10 miles a week and doing circuit training at least 5 days a week. I am also trying to watch my intake of calories and ensure the calories are not full of saturated fats which can also add to being tired. Eat lots of green veggies daily. Seems to be helping with my energy level. Hope this helps.

tired.
Yes, I am tired. I get so tired of being tired I cry about it. Doc finally is allowing vitamins, 2 weeks now, dont see a difference yet. When I do get a burst of energy, I get excited and think what can I do because I find it only last about an hour. Not giving up. I have talked to survivors who say this is normal. Not to be hard on yourself and just keep resting, treating yourself good because you are worth it. Hug

Just finished 18 weeks of chemo/radiation very tire
I'm so sorry and I feel or you! I just finished 18 weeks of chemo radiation. I have breast, anal cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I'm exhausted all the time. It's all I could do some days to get in the house after my treatments. Just don't be hard on yourself. My very good friend told me during my treatments that I was being hard on myself and when. I realized that it was okay to be exhausted. I drank lots of fluids and just lay in my couch. I had surgery in Tuesday but I'm still tired and I just give into it. I guess I don't have advice just to let you know it's okay.
Hugs and prayers,
Kim

Extremely tired
i have been out of touch for a while, but would like to first congratulate you on finshing the chemo. It is truly an awsome thing to be able to say "poke me with the fork, becase I am DONE!
The degree of "tired" was expressed to me two ways......first as-Holy crap, we darn near killed you off with the treatment....be tired, rest! Second ....remember the tiredist you have ever been-and multiply by ten.
Rest and take care of yourself. You have been through and are in a major battle for your life. Chill. Rest. Get back on your feet as you can. Some of us are going to bounce back quickly. Some (me) are going to struggle big time and will never be near their normal activity level. But rejoice.......we are still here.

Worn out..yes..:-)
I am right in the middle of my treatment...taxol now after four horrendous chemo treatments which kept me sick until a day or two before the next one...with these new treatments ..oh , for breast cancer...I have a day or so when I feel pretty normal..whatever that is :-) then get tired..more and more until the next treatment..weekly now. At first I fought this exhaustion..well, I raved and screamed and cried and fought everything...now I am better emotionally..but I think it's because I allowed myself to feel my feelings. Now I am doing everything my doctors ask of me and planning for the future..I have a map of the Appalachian Trail and a book and I am going to hike that thing...maybe a section at a time...but I have plans...I am looking to use my passport, see things I always said I couldn't afford to, or didn't have the time...Cancer does change a person...now I am resting up for all the adventures I plan on having when I am well.
